Re: On-line engine blitz tourney November

I used same dotnet construction on hgm's server giving no problems. So something is different. Maybe something has changed on your end. I know that you had a bad computer crash several months ago, and that you had to setup everything new on another PC, after this event you didn't play on HGM's serv...

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney November

Previous tourney I had to reconnect after each game otherwise my engine would not move. Has that issue already been fixed. Or what do I have to change in my engine to fix that problem? Might also be I did not use the right conection string. I used this one: winboard -zp -ics -icshost nightmare-ches...

I think the explanation is: 'because it tested 0.3 Elo better'.

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney October

The last tournament took a bit long (caused by the 5.2 and the endless endgames of LC0), the next tournament will be 5.1 again. Yes sorry about that, I won't run Lc0 again. Can you please set up a new account for EtherealRB and PM me the password, and I'll use that next time. No problem, already se...

Re: Pawn hash table, a little disappointment

I added a pawn hash table to Minic in order to store everything pawn related (passed, isolated, doubled, backward, candidate, holes, attack, openfile, semiopenfile, ...) So the entry of the hash table is quite big (sizeof(PawnEntry) = 140) ... I'm using a total size for this table that is 1/16 of t...

Re: First chess benchmarks for the Intel core i9-10980XE emerge

How does GPU performance affect CPU performance? I thought it was the other way around. So, I don't understand this comment. Cinebench and 3DMark are 3D graphical benchmarks, don't you think that the GPU has influence on that as well? The numbers I gave are for a general purpose benchmark. i.e. non...

Re: First chess benchmarks for the Intel core i9-10980XE emerge

Roughly speaking how many times is i9-10980XE faster than i7-5960X ? In some other thread we talked about the i7-5960X performance before. I also have a 5960X at 4 GHz. on an Asus X99 deluxe, it does on the stockfish bench a little bit below 20 mnps, if the leaked benchmark of the 10980XE is true a...
