Re: Wrong chess studies

Try using a backward analysis on the proposed line: it shows the above correction.

Re: Wrong chess studies

"mate by one move (mate in 30) playing 24...Kd7 instead of 24...Nd7:"

Stupid error by me: of course I meant "24. Kd7" and "24. Nd7".
Sorry :(

Re: Wrong chess studies

Actually, I find, using Houdini4 or Stockfish151214, both with Syzigies, that white can delay mate by one move (mate in 30) playing 24...Kd7 instead of 24...Nd7: 24. Kd7 Qxb8 25. Kc6 Qb4 26. Kc7 Qb5 27. Kd6 Kf6 28. Kc7 Ke6 29. Kc8 Kd6 30. Kd8 Qd7# instead of 24.Nd7 Qc7 25. Ke8 Ke6 26. Nf8+ Kd6 27. N...

Re: False positive, of course !

aargh! A check with VirusTotal gives not nice results... checked with 56 antiviruses, 21 suspect results. It is not the first time I found similar results (but not at this level). To be honest, in the previous cases, however, I did not see any complaint for damages by the users of the older versions...

Re: An easy win... for engines

I went for Qh1, as Uri did.
Checking it with Houdini4 tact with mate search 20 , it is a mate in 8, while the best are Qdf3+, together with Qxb8+, both in 7 moves.

Re: Draw position bishop+g3 pawn vs g2 pawn

[d] 8/8/8/6p1/8/6pP/4k1P1/b6K w - - 4 5
in this case, Gull3 too gets at once -0.03
