No, it was not a Vitruvius team idea...
I was only summarizing Shashin's suggestions for improving engines' tactical abilities. He mentions only these three basic types of tactical approach, and the mixing up of some of these to overcome the difficulties of some positions.

Briefly, what I understood: Somebody from Vitruvius group wrote to "Istruttore scacchi", saying that they were improving Vitruvius' tactics, on the basis of the theory explained in the book by GM Shashin. In the book, Shashin says that there are three basic tactical methods:Tal, Petrosian, Capablanc...

One of these, I bought as soon as was available...

Now, fot those that already bought Fritz, I would ask a question, that is unanswered looking at the infos given in the site: is Frandix (Panfritz, or whatever you like) available as UCI, or only in their proprietary format?

Norbert, I had exactly the same problem... it happened with mozila, opera, Ie and so on. Dunno why, don't ask, please :( Anyway, I was able to dwnld the files on IE searching with Google "house of the rebel", and adding to the address \tools. it worked for me, at least... I leave the explanation to ...
