Re: Will there ever been a Houdini for Android ?

Re: Rustam Kasimdzhanov proposal

Don, If longer time controls are less valid why does Larry make such a big deal that Komodo can always catch Houdini on longer time controls? And Chess Matches (or any competition) are not about finding out who is statistically better. They are about a dramatic competition. The drama of a long tense...

Re: Rustam Kasimdzhanov proposal

Don, I think the tennis analogy is not the best one to make as it is a continuation of the same game. But the proposal is to change the definition of a "game" so that it really becomes a mini-match. If a chess draw was then decided by a new blitz or rapid game then that is a DIFFERENT game being pl...

Don, I think the tennis analogy is not the best one to make as it is a continuation of the same game. If a chess draw was then decided by a new blitz or rapid game then that is a DIFFERENT game being played to decide the outcome of the first game. This is why (although exciting) sudden death goal sh...

Re: Chess Pro - with coach By Christophe Théron -- FreeTod

I am not confused, Albert. For anything I do a simple desktop or notebook is lot more useful and easier to use. For reading I prefer paper books and in any case I have a Kindle, equally better to read than a tablet. To have s clear perspective of what you need and what is the use for you of anythin...

Re:My opinion

Back then we had programs ranging from the ultra aggressive (CSTAL for example) to the ultra solid (Shredder), and a lot of engines in between. Nowadays, yes any top 20 engine can beat the past greats like they were tinfoil, but stylistically, they have all become similar. Zchess 2.0 plays like tal...

Re: Komodo CCT release

Is the evaluation much different? Just wondering if the money is going to be well spent. Love Komodo. (actually kind of partial to Komodo 4!)
