Re: Komodo 4.1

Hi Don, how about releasing the 4.1 SP version now and wait for a 4.2 MP until you are satisfied with the performance? I think there are a lot of persons (including me) who would love to see an engine that plays on par with Houdini on 1 CPU (at TCs >15m+3s). Komodo is the hottest candidate to reach ...

Re: Critter 1.6 released!

Many thanks for the release, Richard! I'm looking forward to test the new Critter and send it to the chess arena to fight against the other engine heavyweights...

Re: THURINGEN 2012?

Thuringen Tournament had to be cancelled a few weeks ago because the tournament organizer had health problems. But maybe it will be fetched later this year - we will see. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't take place again next year.

Re: Timo Klaustermeyer - finish testing because of poor feed

Thanks for the feedback. It's a known problem on the net that such sloppy talks raise aggressions and anger in some people because they feel attacked or insulted. That may be a known problem, but if you read your first posting again from a more objective point of view you must confess that most peo...

Re: Timo Klaustermeyer - finish testing because of poor feed

IMO - it's just my impression and critic - the whole idea of Timo is a hoax. Because IMO he was concerned about engines like Komodo because of its only 1-core actual state or in Junior 13 because of its weak play in TC which is common nowadays. So, Timo and others tweaked the usual testing precedur...

Re: Timo Klaustermeyer - finish testing because of poor feed

Hi Catalin, this thread really wasn't necessary in my opinion. This sounds like it's armageddon when I stop testing. 99,9% of the people would think: So what? Further more you misunderstood me, I think. I didn't say I would stop testing engines completely. You asked me in a PM to continue my p...

Re: Elo performance lists from 'Clash of the Titans' tourney

Hello Jesús,

thanks for the feedback and for your interesting statistics. Of course more games would be necessary to draw any stable conclusions, but a tendancy is already visible.

Best regards from Hamburg, Germany

Re: Rating list from Timo's tournaments

Hi Robert, Most striking is that there's no fundamental difference with the IPON list played at about 100 times slower time control, other than some compression of the ratings. That's true, here are both scores directly compared: IPON Overall Scores: Houdini: 327.0/600 (54.5%) Critter: 304.5/600 (50...
