I think anonymity speaks more about character or personality flaws rather than credibility. or professionalism.Graham Banks wrote:Who is BB? Too many people like to hide behind anonymity, which doesn't do a lot for their credibility. Just my opinion.

It seems like you are the one mixing up cause and effect.
Was code stolen from Fruit? Was code stolen from Rybka?
Those are the questions and not the quality of the consequences.

It's apparent to me that if Mr. Rajlich were to bring a lawsuit against the clones, he would need to ...identify who he was suing. it's a venture that Mr. Rajlich undoubtedly sees as hopeless. Add all of this up, and it's a useless venture to try to bring litigation. I personally believe that he ha...

I'm not sure if this helps but you can setup your own static IP address using your operating system. Just google static IP address and your OS, and you'll find the instructions. I use it myself all the time.

My point is that I disagree with "Improving 3200 elo engine by looking for weaknesses in play, that's just ridiculous." It could be that he is just very weak and thus the concept looks like science fiction. There are many weaknesses in its evaluation that do not require a GM to see, but if even the...

How come all the ippolites are always so angry? Have they been watching too much Glenn Beck? I thought it was the rybkaphiles who were predicting the end of the world and finding satan behind every corner...may some of the better engines be some day accepted in your holy testing groups. Would you r...

Re: 100 long games Rybka 4 vs Houdini 1.03a
...All in all, this IvanHoe is ~20 +/-5 Elo points stronger than Rybka 4 with 95% confidence, it has a "Game" mode and an "Analysis" mode, uses endgame bitbases, and is clearly ahead of Rybka 4 by at least a year if we are to judge the progress of Rybka. It is much more useful in Game mode (Playche...

Re: no improvements from derivatives for some time.
quite frankly,i expect none until you break R4 code.R4 is very very good in engames.put that in your pipe and smoke it,also get some decent hardware your engines cannot handle big hardware which will be even bigger shortly. :) Rybka 4 is not that good in endgames. It frequently overestimates its ch...
