Re: What is New in Toga II 1.3x4?

Take a look here and figure out for yourself why Pavel is testing with suspecious conditions and not to talk about the odd opening books he's using.... Of course I don't have anything personaly against him,but we should take a close look at everything which the testers offer us as results and conclu...

Re: Arena1.99beta4 was out a few days ago

It would be handy if Martin could make Arena compatible with CTG books as its a pain to have weak abk books when the strong opening books are in CTG format. Hi John, are you talking about engines using their own books or using a general abk book for all? If you're suggesting using a general abk boo...

Re: Crafty no improvement in strength?

It really sickens me when users of programs, who probably haven't programmed a chess game themselves, criticise the efforts of others. This is the kind of stuff that some programmers dish out when they don't have anything else to say,I've seen some of the programmers state that to different people ...

Re: Crafty no improvement in strength?

Dr Deeb Like you say I'm entitled to my opinion Yes,but indeed until you plug Crafty to a 8 core system, you won't feel the increase in the performance of Crafty.... The other problem is that on my dual core system I can't use it as a MP engine because even with ponder off it uses always one process...

When they criticise someone who has won the world championship and done more for computer chess than anyone else it just becomes ridiculous Crafty is a great progra...

Re: Arena1.99beta4 was out a few days ago

Of course creating an opening book under the ChessBase GUI is much easier because of the existence of tools,OTOH creating an opening book under the Arena GUI is a nightmare because of the lack of tools.... I can asure you that Arena Main Book,iPapyrus.abk and Rybka.abk are the best three opening boo...
