Re: Komodo - Rybka in Danger?

Well, this stuff was made public by the clones, and anyway Vas had asked me to keep such general eval knowledge confidential for a year, and it's now been a year and a half. Still I won't reveal exact values of terms in R3 even if they are more or less public due to the clones (or "derivatives" if ...

Re: Komodo - Rybka in Danger?

Hi, people from ChessOK will answer you if you ask them, at least they answered my questions (I know I am famous). Maybe one day I will publish what they told me now. The place to look for it is the Arena page. I also published the info about their findings back then when Strelka/Belka was released...

Re: linux compile segfaults for IvanHoe ...73

Actually, since it will take a beating, maybe BASHee is best. :D

"BASHee" it is.

But, you are incorrect about it "taking a beating". I plan to ask that it be run on the 128 bit Toby Tal 'server'.

New Year's resolution: a chess engine written in BASH script

It's stoopid, I know. But, it's been done in Javascript. I would like to see an obviously very basic script that searches 3 or 4 ply, with simple piece value eval. A minimax and no alpha-beta, etc.

Anybody out there who could help?

The world is crying out for a BASH chess engine.

Re: Komodo - Rybka in Danger?

That's great that you can make use of the intellectual property of Rybka and share some of the general ideas of the program with the engine community and incorporate some of the unique Rybka ideas into other projects. Another thing ... you have have indicated that the robbolito code is originated fr...

Re: linux compile segfaults for IvanHoe ...73

Well, the ippoliterati responded with a fix! This is for IvanHoe v73. In utility.c, add the the 1 to the following line. The original is commented out: LINE 282: POSITION->DYN = POSITION->DYN_ROOT + 1; LINE 283:// POSITION->DYN = POSITION->DYN_ROOT; I run Ubuntu 9.10 x64 also and am not C literate e...

linux compile segfaults for IvanHoe ...73

The ippoliterate mad hatters' IvanHoe...73 version compiles on Ubuntu 9.10, but immediately segfaults upon execution. The gdb spittle is below. Anybody but me having problems compiling this spaghetti code on Linux? Something to do with posix_memalign? Inquiries made on the mad hatters' incomprehensi...

Re: Komodo - Rybka in Danger?

Is this info about R3 that you provide here and elsewhere at all public knowledge? I taught Rybka 3 that two rooks on the seventh were worth more than two times one rook there, and it probably made R3 something like one Elo point stronger. We're not yet down to looking for single Elo point improveme...
