Re: Simply in Awe...

120 + 5 is very fast. In the last game Stockfish failed by playing 16. ... b2?? If only it had few more seconds to think it would realize that 16. ... fe! leaves white with nothing better than perpetual check.

Re: Test Position: Bronstein vs Keres, Goteborg 1995

Sorry for resurfacing old threads. :) It may be MP luck but Stockfish 1.7 sees Bxh6 after 15 minutes while SF1.6 likes Nf5 even after 90 minutes. In my opinion this is a strong contender for the title of the most beautiful sacrifice ever played. It looks like black surely can defend with bishop and ...

Re: Dr Wael Rybka 4 May 10th 2010

:) I know. Do you think Rybka 4 will be stronger than the Ippo things? Christopher Just a guess, that I'm SURE Vas has been playing with those Ippo things almost 24 hours a day, and is highly familiar with their every weakness and strength. Ippo is not important. Do you think Rybka 4 will be strong...

Re: Stockfish 1.7

Re: Stockfish 1.7

Question: What does the value of randomness UCI parameter change? Does it mean randomness in decipawns? Or percents? Rating degradation percentage?

Re: How many engines are not able to handle a big initiative

To avoid the "outsearched" option we can compile a special crippled version of top engine and make it play against non-crippled version of engine. What do you think how much weaker engine will play with weird piece values (75, 400, 450,500, 800 for pawn, knight, bishop, queen)? Now the weaker engine...
