Not really. To know what branches of the tree are not even worth considering you must calculate other branches first.

Large positive contempt value is proven to be disadvantageous when playing against equally strong or stronger opponent. By extrapolation I guess negative contempt can help when all you need is draw.

Fancy sacrifices by Junior in TCEC. :)

In TCEC stage 2a Junior played 4 games so far and there are 3 sacs! There was a nice pawn sac against Rybka. What's more impressive is Rybka lost. Exchange sacrifice against Gull was nice too. I bought Shredder. The blunders on lower strength settings are very natural. The engine is fun to play against.

In "Chess for Android" I do not understand hoe to enter analysis mode.
