Re: LCZero: Progress and Scaling. Relation to CCRL Elo

do you know the elo of the strongest ai chess software today ? http://www.computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/404/rating_list_all.html Look at 1 core performances, as LCZero is on one core too. Stockfish 9 on one core is about 3500 CCRL Elo. I meant software which uses neural networks.is it giraffe ? I think...

Re: Syzygy implementations of top engines

I think that even if Texel's TB probing strategy is ideal, the result is not ideal because it also depends on how efficient the regular search is. I think that if texel's TB probing strategy was implemented in stockfish, it would likely get lower than 47.80 moves to mate on average for this test su...

Re: Syzygy implementations of top engines

5-men DTM50 ~ 100 GB | Who want to allocate so much SSD space for 5-men bases? I don't know if someone has made a serious attempt at creating a good compression scheme for DTM50 tables. It seems you could get really good compression by predicting that the value for hmc+1 is the same as for hmc and ...

Re: Syzygy implementations of top engines

The ideal play exhibited by Texel 1.07 + Syzygy-5-men + Gaviota-5-men shows average length to Mate of 47.80 moves. I will now post a table of "efficiency" or "length to Mate" of top engines enabled with Syzygy-5-men. The time control is 1 second per move on these 225 hard 5-men Wins. Engine Moves t...

Re: multi-pv analysis

I find the 'best' move and get an evaluation. Then, to find the second PV, I perform a search with the first move excluded from consideration giving me another move with its associated evaluation. That is a pretty inefficient way of doing it. ... If you want to get a fixed number of PVs, rather tha...

Re: tuning info

P.S: Does anybody know why latest cutechess-cli does not display results on stdout ? It plays the game and saves it to a pgn but there is no result output on the screen. I tried cutechess-cli 1.0 and 0.85, on ubuntu 17.10 -- Qt version 5.9.1 I had this problem in fedora 24. I solved it by adding th...

Re: Missed win by asmFish or just my new year hangover?

Thanks a lot for the clarification. Then I think point 1 is partly correct. Because the move Ke3! won't even be possible if SF8 played properly with Bf1+Re2+Kf2 fortress which won't allow the Ke3 invasion. But it seems SF8 played weak moves (allowing Ke3! later in the game) because it "knew" that t...
