I just bought a W10 mini pc windows. About U$80 from amazon. I am testing it now. If it goes well i will probably buy another 1 or 2. I like because it comes with windows 10. I use visual studio to develop. So I just insert a pen drive and start cutechess. In my case it is very convenient. Does any...

Roughly how many do you mean by 'some'? There are ppl that do a not bad engine with just for example one 4 core computer. Ok, this is a bit short but specially in the beginnings most improvements are big enough to be detectable statistically with not that much games. When you arrive to do improveme...

I prefer gauntlet to test new versions. I noticed that it is more consistent than self play. I usually select 5 engines, but I include my previous version. So I will test the new version against 2 slightly weaker, previous version, and 2 slightly stronger engines. Once my engine gets stronger after ...
