Re: Why Christophe doesnt answer???

Paulo, he answered that question many times. He thinks that it is pointless to add SMP support until he improves his engine enough to be one of the top engines. I didn´t read nothing about Chess Tiger SMP, thanks, Tony. But if I asked a question to Christophe two times, why he didn´t reply? At leas...

Re: What is New in Toga II 1.3x4? It is Windows-only engine

[ Hello Neil, thanks for the example of a makefile. I'm trying to study C a bit and Toga's source at the same time, but for compiling Toga in Microsoft Visual C I don't suppose one could use your example makefile? I assume many compiler switches would not be the same? The project is pretty simple. ...

Re: What is New in Toga II 1.3x4? It is Windows-only engine

Being Windows-only seems to be a new feature of Toga's latest version? Or has someone compiled it for other architectures? I can't compile it in Linux. If anyone has succeeded in compiling a Linux binary, perhaps they could help me? The release violates the GPL too, I think. See my recent post. I d...

Re: Learn Chinese Chess XiangQi, it is fun and NOT hard to l

At one time it seems there was development of a GnuChess version of XiangQi, but although there is a protocol, GUI and engine already developed and downloadable, not much seems to have been done since 2003. The existing engines are not very strong yet it seems, from reactions in the forum. Latest de...

Re: Learn Chinese Chess XiangQi, it is fun and NOT hard to l

You learn it and you play it. Ta taa.. Now that I know how to move the pieces I can NOT find anybody to play against, I will have to buy a decent XiangQi program to play a little, or probably download a very weak XiangQi program like this one: http://www.jcraner.com/qianhong/ With a search, I found...

Re: EGBB for Toga

Hello Where can I find and download the complete EGBBs for Toga 1.3x4 ? I appreciate any help... They are at Daniel Shawul's page on WBEC-Ridderkerk, where you can also find Scorpio. Go to Leo Dijksman's site http://wbec-ridderkerk.nl/ and then to http://wbec-ridderkerk.nl/html/details/Scorpio.html...

Re: knight sacrifice Test position

Hiarcs 11.1 Combinations doesn't seem to like the Knight sac at all, although all the alternatives also don't score very high for White. After 13.O-O, two best moves, from Black's viewpoint, Hiarcs thinks Black is now clearly better but it does not prefer Zap's 13...Qa5: r2q1b1r/1b1nk1p1/p1p1pnBp/1...

Re: knight sacrifice Test position

Thanks for the position Dom, it seems an interesting novelty from Fritz! Zap!Chess thinks White has not enough compensation for the Knight, Hiarcs 11 likes Black even better it seems after 13. O-O than Zap. Toga thinks that 13...Qb6 -the move that Fritz expected if I understand Chessbase notation co...

Re: Some more data to the fire :-)

when the results showed that the gap between the 2 programs was to big, i throw out the redundant older versions to get more data from the more important ones. the behaviour in those tournaments is so sure that you can reproduce it at any time. Okay Thorsten, I take it you refer mainly to tournamen...

Re: Some more data to the fire :-)

This is just one tournament. But Thorsten, I noticed you've posted few results of your tournaments on your forum where both Toga 1.3x4 and Toga 1.2.1a participated. In none of the links you posted earlier in this thread were both Toga versions playing, only in of Tournament c http://f50.parsimony.ne...
