Re: The Inside Story on Rybka
As long as the finished product plays good chess and preferably gives the thinking lines and evaluation, isn't that all that should really concern us? Just my opinion of course. Regards, Graham. I agree with you on this. However, Rybka seems to truncate its PVs, and I wouldn't mind seeing fu...

Re: Test Position - Nxg5
Hi Marc. I was also using a PIV 2.4 for my testing. This position, unbelievably, comes from a 10' blitz game on Playchess between a 1550ish chump playing white (me) and a 1750ish chump playing black (some other guy). I played Nxg5 in the game, but for all the wrong reasons. I had mistakenly thought ...

Re: Even the best are human are human - evidence?
Thanks Tony ... one to you, though that one is also in Wikipedia under 'Chess Blunders'. Tim Krabbe also has a set of cases where one player resigned rather than play the winning move - incredible but true. Third source is the '??' in GK's 'My Predecessors' - though these are not always drop-dead-o...

How about the normally super solid Petrosian simply forgetting that his queen was attacked in his game versus Bronstein at the 1956 Candidate's Tournament? Re: Is there an engine to play the "Can I" variant
I learn this game some years ago : This game is very similar to chess, except that you have to ask your opponent to make a move, if he accept , you have to play the move, if he refuse you can play an other move of your choice. Remark : If only 1 move is possible , play it without asking. Yes i knew...
