Re: Java Engines

Good point, searching Wbec I'm finding these ones as well: Alf POS King's Out Talvmenni Olithink isn't I'll bet there's even more. There is a Java version of OliThink. Check out Jim Ablett's home page ( http://homepages.tesco.net/henry.ablett/jims.html ) for a compiled binary, and the Olithink home...

Re: Delfi Trainer 5.4 is now out

I forgot about the adjustable elo part..Deep Sjeng used to have that feature, but according to the program I was rated around 1300, but I cant even defeat Josh at age 6 from Chessmaster (he did lose on time once when I had a superior position)..I think it might be a good idea to support a programme...

Re: Delfi Trainer 5.4 is now out

I agree, but I see a loop in the commercial venture..Why give away the similar version without the GUI for free? The only difference in engines if I recall correctly is a slight speed advantage for the commercial version due to the use of a better compiler. I am not sure if you have ever noticed, b...

Re: Delfi Trainer 5.4 is now out

If you are a registered user, did you receive a download link or engine by email? Thank you for any information. Yes, I did ... Download link via Email It's not a bad deal, the web page says 2 years of free updates. I don't know if there's a current commercial engine that's more inexpensive, now th...

Re: Rybka 3.0 in Chessbase GUI

Aquarium isn't capable of editing or creating trees in the ctg format yet, only open and use them for play and browsing. So Jeroen is probably forced to use CB-software still - however, while the book is sold separately, is appears he has gotten a deal of his own via Chessbase. This hole affair loo...

Re: Rybka 3.0 in Chessbase GUI

I tend to "feel" the same way... However, also with Convekta there's no sign of Rybka3.ctg... All seems a bit weird to me, except that ctg is CB-format, and appears that the only way to get the book for your Rybka is via CB. That is kind of odd. Isn't the tree handling supposed to be one of the str...

Sure looked strange to click on the ZShare link and see 0 downloads. Woo hoo, first in line. :)

Re: tscp w/ bitboard under Linux

Changing the subject just a litle. Upon searching my laptop this morning I discovered that I have a copy of TSCP 1.0. Don't have the source, ie. the C programmng, but it works just fine. I think it is a 4-ply only program. Bill Hi Bill. Would you mind if I asked you to send me a copy of the executa...

Re: A fun opening book ...

Is this a "fun" book in the sense that it has a lot of gambit and unconventional lines? A book like that might make an interesting thematic tournament.
