Re: How does one recover their lost love of chess programmin

I question for you Tony. Did you write it in a modular fashion? By that I mean do most of the subroutines stand alone until they are called? This makes it much easier to work on an engine as you only look at one piece of code at a time instead of the entire engine. For a reference as to what I mean...

Re: How does one recover their lost love of chess programmin

Hi Edsel. I released it last year, after much poking and prodding from the crew at the ChessWar chat room. Those guys are constantly bugging me to release something new. ;) I started work on the engine in 2003, so it was sitting under wraps for quite some time before I did finally release it. It's a...

How does one recover their lost love of chess programming?

I'm not really sure this is the proper forum for this message, since this is not a technical issue, but it is related to programming, so I figured it would be most appropriate to place it here. When I first started working on Tony's Chess, it was a whole newfangled and exciting world. It was a compl...

Re: Which GUI is best for testing 64 bit engines?

but arena 1.99 beta 4 is better. one reason you will have to change parameters of ONE engine is e.g. the opening-book-bug in chessbase gui's. although you linked the engine with an opening book, when you start the tournament the engine suddenly plays WITHOUT book. if this happens after 20 other gam...

Re: Any success with these engines

Is this the same EGM ??? If EGM is a WinBoard engine, and knows how to play Gothic Chess, (or has a dedicated version that does), I would be very interested! I guess it must be, as the report of the Gothic Chess World Championship 2004 lists this: * Pawel Kobylarz, 30, from Gdynia, Poland. Author o...

Porucznik is available at polish chess forum: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/progszach/files/ However, only registered users can download the files... I hope the reason for joining that I supplied to the group moderator was good enough. Robin is (was?) available at http://www.robinchess.of.pl/ ...

You use v. 1.1 right? It's under the Options/Appearance menu, PGN tab. Uncheck Save Mainline, Save Move Value/Depth and Save Duration.
