I emailed Gianluigi Masciulli asking for Golem 0.4, but I never got a response from him. I too wouldn't mind trying out this engine.rhollay wrote: I had to write to Gianluigi Masciulli to send me the latest version, and that's how I got it.

Re: Ares 1.0 in honor of the NASA Ares I-X Space Rocket
Hi Ted, download the file http://www.thorstenczub.de/Ares1.0.prg from Thorsten's site and rename it to Ares1.0.exe .
I'm not sure what's wrong with the download at WBEC, all I get is a Zip file with an empty folder.

I would venture to say that illegal cloning of copyrighted material is a much greater wrong than giving an original engine a name with a swear word in it. I'm a big boy, I don't let names hurt me.Anton wrote: So two wrongs make a right? It just strikes me as being very immature.

Re: Shitta, Bugga, Tossa, a disgrace to Computer Chess?
.........who are too ashamed to put their names to them for obvious reasons. Ashamed? Really? I was under the impression that a certain group of programmers cloned their own engines and assigned them these silly names as a form of protest against widespread cloning and the damage that it has done t...

Hi Tano-Urayoan, Eelco provided an archived link for Wilhelm. I also stumbled across what seems to be a new home page for Wilhelm: http://home.datacomm.ch/kruandr/index_english.htm The old Alex Winboard Tournament manager page is here: http://usuarios.lycos.es/alexwbtm/English/Home.htm but unfortuna...

Re: RIP Geocities
Yahoo! has shut down a number of other services aside from GeoCities, so I would imagine the economy has played a part. Here is an article about the situation: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2009/10/geocities-closing.html The Thinker downloads are available here: http://cid-2991af457de54...

I guess the rec.games.chess.politics usenet group must really be dead, because that's where I first saw the source to this program, months ago.Harvey Williamson wrote: Nobody had heard of this clone till last week when it was advertised here although it was known to a few.

Re: Problem with UCI and Arena
You can use Arena's debug window (F4 key) to view all the I/O that Arena generates and receives, from Arena's point of view. Maybe compare that to your log file and see if there's some sort of difference.
