Re: NanoSzachy and PikoSzachy Updated...

Is it from my post here in CCC that you got that idea  ? But of course, I have to crib good ideas from somewhere. PE Explorer is a nice little tool. Do you have a similar solution for older Feuersteins ? Matthias. PE Explorer can extract old versions of Feuerstein, provided your antivirus doe...

Re: NanoSzachy and PikoSzachy Updated...

Probably a false alarm, due to the use of the UPack exe compressor. I used PE Explorer to uncompress the file, and the uncompressed file has a clean bill of health from VirusTotal.com. Looking at the uncompressed exe in a hex editor, I can see why Piotr compresses it, it's almost all zero bytes, the...

Thank you Gianluca. I think you just set a new world record for the amount of time between engine releases :).

Re: PikoSzachy 3.1 is always blocked by Spyware Doctor

It looks like PikoSzachy is compressed with the WinUpack .EXE compressor. Compressed executables often cause false virus alerts, because malware can potentially be hidden inside packed .EXEs. I had similar anti-virus warnings with Feuerstein 0.4.6. Personally, I don't see the point of packing engine...

Re: RBrChess v2.13 (32bit) with Arena 2.0.1 GUI

Does it play OK as white? I was having trouble with RBrChess 2.13 and Arena as well. RBr played as black, but not as white. I am referring to the x32 version.

Re: I need chess engines coded in java

Hi Matthias, is there a particular engine you are looking for? I have a few .jar file based engines here, but I don't want to clutter your mailbox with something you already have.

Re: Thinker 5.4d

Thanks for the release Lance and Kerwin. 5.4d was supposed to be nearly 40 elo improvement over 5.4c. They didn't release it. Somebody stumbled across a link for a beta version that was not supposed to be available for the public. http://www.talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26946 From Lance in t...
