any UCI pure brute-force engines?

[D]8/1pN4r/5pkp/8/5K1p/2P4N/P3Bn2/8 w - -[/D] Bh5+ wins. None of top engines could solve it. I guess that search techniques like null_move_pruning or futility_pruning are responsible for that blindness. Is pure brute_force the only chance to solve it? And if so, what UCI compatibile engine could you...

Re: Sting Sf 4.7 release

Thanks Marek. Sting is totally awesome. In the old days, I used to think that the more elo engine has, the better analysis tool it is. Now I know it's not true anymore. Have you considered adding Syzygy support? Perhaps Sting + Syzygy = endgame monster?

BTW Sting deserves to have it's own website :)

Re: Komodo release

AMD Phenom II X4 955, Windows 7 x64

1. Run Komodo exe file,
2. Close console window

Crash!

Not a serious problem but worth fixing.

WOW... the more I use it, the more I see how similar to ChessX it is. ChessExplorer seems to be an improved version of ChessX :o

Re: Someone Alredy Have Hiarcs Exlorer? Please, opinions...

At last I can say: "Bye bye, Chessbase!" Now I'm free of buggy CB GUI... Chess Explorer is really simple and intuitive GUI. Somehow it reminds me ChessX. What I love about Chess Explorer is the way you can switch engines - very easy, only two clicks. I also like the fact that Chess Explorer saves En...

Re: Junior update

Via command line enter:

uci
go infinite

CRASH!

My patience is gone. Command line bug hasn't been fixed since ver. 12. Of course, you may ask: "why to use DJ via command line?". Well... that's not the point. The point is that 80$ engine should be stable.

Probably won't buy next Junior.

Re: Bashing the Berlin Wall

I still think that we should consider 5.Bxc6 dxc6 6.O-O as the main line. I remember Kramnik saying that he was prepareing for 4.d3 as Black before the match in 2000. He said that they have found an equlizing line although it wasn't easy. Perhaps but we should also consider how to play against 4......
