Re: Tuning again

Hi Vincent, Nice to hear from you again. Hi Ed, In itself running fixed depth matches is not a bad idea. However it tunes a lot better if you get through tactical barrier. That barrier is far above 8 ply. Of course you are right and in an ideal world I would use 16 plies. But 8 ply plus 10,000+ game...

Re: Prodeo 1.7 problem

I am using Arena 3.0 Currently and the last week 6 eng-eng matches (thus 12 x PD) are running on my quad, 6 x as UCI, 6 as WB. I noticed 3 things: 1. Sometimes Arena hangs after a 3 fold repetition and I have to click "draw" to have the match to continue. 2. Arena restarts after 20 rounds. It's prob...

Just when I thought I had seen everything in CC :mrgreen:
Is it possible to run Prodeo 1.7 with the old DOS GUI ? How to proceed?

Re: Unlucky with the output of Pro Deo´s analyse.

Good to see a n...

Re: Tuning again

1. introduce a special parameter for internal testing; 2. when the flag is on increase the depth with 1 when queens are exchanged; 3. depth+2 entering the endgame 4. depth+5 entering the simple endgame That was how Usurpator II did it in the eighties! :shock: I had not learned the blessings of iter...

There is nothing of that, just winboard commands.

Excellent to test search issues, eval IMO by fixed depth. Knowledge vs Knowledge not influenced by search randomness.

Hi Frank,

Better use:

Program = prodeo.exe w5 ProDeo.eng

Rest is OK.

Best to you,
