Excellent to test search issues, eval IMO by fixed depth. Knowledge vs Knowledge not influenced by search randomness.

Re: ProDeo 1.7 official now

I hope that this effort of yours to tune up Pro Deo 1.6 is just the beginning of a reborn interest in chess programming and that, after a while, you will come back in strength with new engines so innovative as your rebel was in the 90's, including the GUI you used then, which I still prefer to any ...

Re: Tuning again

Eval tuning I strictly do at fixed depth. I don't want external factors like time control or permanent brain to interfere. Enough volume will flatten all the horizon effects eventually, both sides. IMHO the main drawbacks are: impossible to test depth sensible stuff like king safety and artificial ...

Re: Pro Deo under Arena Interface

Hello Ed, thank's for the update of ProDeo. I bought one of your ChessMachines in the early 1990s and have been a Schoeder customer since then. When running ProDeo under Arena do I run it as a UCI or Winboard engine? Would the engine be the ProDeo.exe or RebelUCI.exe? Can the hash tables be changed...

Re: ProDeo 1.7 available ...

I wonder what this Benjamin personality is?
