SPCC: Testrun of Lc0 LS 12.1 finished

NN-testrun of Lc0 0.23.0 Leelenstein 12.1 Net finished (new best result of a NN-engine, but very close to Lc0 0.22.0 T40B.4-160. But LS 12.1 scored 51.5% (+104 =307 -89) vs. Stockfish 190622, which is clearly the best score vs. Stockfish so far) https://www.sp-cc.de (Perhaps you have to clear your b...

Re: Blackmageddon Openings released

So thanks for that info! My main issue with "Blackmageddon" is that the initial position with a2 gone is not nearly a .62 advantage for Black, so White has to play some poor moves to get to -.60 (or -.62 ideally). If we're going to have to play some poor moves for one side anyway, why not just use ...

Re: Blackmageddon Openings released

The Komodo Eval and the Eval-limits are in the TAGs. Did Komodo know that a draw would count as a white win? Otherwise, those evals can't be used because black would be fine with a 0.00 because all the other moves were in white's favor, except if the 0.00 leads to a white draw wins the eval makes n...

Re: AlphaZero No Castling Chess

Engines need to know that they're playing armageddon. So they need to be taught playing that mode. That is false. In Blackmageddon, black is one pawn ahead: The engine, which plays white, has a huge negative contempt, because black has one pawn more and the evaluation of the engine is clearly negat...

Re: Blackmageddon Openings released

2. Some openings don't make sense with a2 missing. For example, you include the Ruy Lopez (Spanish) with 3...a6? 4.Ba4? but both of those moves are silly with a2 missing, since a6 is pinned. Maybe these things aren't so important for the purpose of using it just to test engines, but I don't think t...

Re: AlphaZero No Castling Chess

As to whether players (both OTB and correspondence players) would prefer no castling or a missing pawn to compensate draw odds, my opinion is that most would accept no castling more readily than missing pawn. No castling requires the other side to attack, while missing pawn requires the superior si...

Re: Blackmageddon Openings released

Your openings do not respect their promises for Amoeba's testing :( . I do my testing with a 8 moves opening (same as stockfish) producing about 60-65% of draw. Unfortunately I have the same draw percentages with DrawKiller_big.pgn or Blackmageddon_5mvs_10k.pgn. Usually the elo difference measured ...

Re: AlphaZero No Castling Chess

Of course. In Armageddon, the draw-rate is 0%, too. But NBC is a subset of chess. Black not to castle is very "unnatural". In Blackmageddon, all castlings are allowed. So, it is quite normal chess. With white having one pawn less. Followed by 5 human opening-moves out of the Megabase. That is the re...
