Re: Houdini 2.0c T3-setting test (10000 games)

The 10000 games test of the T3-setting was for the LS-rankinglist and did not include games against Houdini 2.0c default. The test of the settings (inclusive T3) against Houdini 2.0c default was a test in advance to find the best setting for the final testrun for the LightSpeed-rankinglist. Best - S...

Houdini 2.0c T3-setting test (10000 games)

The T3-setting played 10000 games (LS-rankinglist conditions, same opponents as Houdini 2.0c default) and scored 0.6% weaker than the default-engine. So it will not be in the LS-rankinglsit - who cares about a setting, which is not better than the default-engine? (-0.6% in 10000 games is inside erro...

Re: LS-rankinglist: Komodo 5

My own view is that such ultra-fast tests are useful for comparing upgrades of one engine to another (although the elo gain will be overstated a bit), but not so useful for comparing unrelated engines. All engines using the Ippo code or search algorithms seem to be extremely strong at such very fas...

Re: LS-rankinglist: Komodo 5

Before this version of the LS-rankinglist, I had the TEB-rankinglist and a LS-rankinglist, which were the same except the thinking time. TEB had 60''+750ms. The results were the same (all differences were inside errorbar), so I decided the TEB-speed is to slow, it is better to have more games than l...

LS-rankinglist: Komodo 5

The LS-rankinglist (LightSpeed-rankinglist), now with Komodo 5. +52 Elo. Nice. But still no MP-version – not nice... Re: Komodo 5 release now available!

We have MANY tester who have verified that Komodo 5 is much stronger than Komodo 4. Hi all, Komodo 5 is running for my LightSpeed-rankinglist. After 1800 games (of 9000), the score is 6% better than Komodo 4 (+40 Elo). Final result hopefully sunday morning here on talkchess and (german) CSS-forum. ...
