Re: Seer

... Again the appeal to engine authors - please create a separate thread if introducing a new engine or important updates. The new engines 2020 thread is intended for testers. It would be interesting to see whether AMD's PEXT beats the native C PEXT implementation, most use magic bitboards as fallb...

Re: CTF Survey

I don't participate there because of the vitriolic content, but, if you close it, some of those (off) topics might easily spill over in here.

Re: FCP Tourney-2021 in preparation ... different questions!

Hi Frank, It might be good to have a different mix of styles, imho. Maybe you'd like to see the passive and bad king safety engines get punished by the better players in your tournament, producing excellent games for the winning side. Re: Draw problem? Incentivize wins!

It's probably worth a few experiments. It can be introduced without affecting the current rating system. You would just reward wins monetarily. I'd like to see some organizer give it a go. Of late, there have been some tournaments that award 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw, so another step in th...

Re: BrainLearn

https://github.com/amchess/BrainLearn/releases/tag/12.1 Why removing montecarlo? Not well working in some guis and, in general, not fully mature. Moreover, as demonstrated by the latest tcec, even on a gpu, MCTS is slower than classical alpha/beta. But that was only an option. It was not the defaul...

Re: My test for Minic 2.50 NNUE-Nascent Nutrient

NNUE may converge only if the goal is strictly Elo gains. As long as it's possible to play differently, with various degrees of risk aversion, they don't have to converge.

Re: Dangerous turn

Just developed should not equal 'not developed'. Besides, someone could change their mind about further development. :)

You're right about TCEC being unreasonable, though. That's their trademark. :x
