Re: It's here ...Honey X6

It just appears that contempt can't be activated at all, either for analysis or match play. I've tried different settings, to no avail. If you can reproduce the problem, then it may be a bug. Otherwise, it could well be ineptitude on my part. :| Of course, a lack of working contempt leaves the engin...

Re: It's here ...Honey X6

If you are using my version, I turn off every form of contempt by default. You can turn it back on with the UCI options. I turn it off because I use chess engines for analysis and rarely for game play. And when I play them, the contempt is not important anyway. And when I analyze, I want the right ...

Re: ChessBase Engine Database Loading

Their primary database program is Chessbase (currently up to v15), not Fritz. Database capabilities are only an afterthought in Fritz GUI. Anyone serious enough about their chess would get their DB program. I would wait another month till CB have their semi-annual sale and buy their Chessbase DB pro...

Re: It's here ...Honey X6

Thanks +1 for the new release. :D The style is there as before, but contempt seems to be broken. I use centipawn score, and the scores don't reflect any sort of activated contempt, no matter what it's set to.

Re: It's here ...Honey X6

I called it polygon {many-sided} because it uses all of the features except it does not have the blue stuff yet. Updated file at the same location, last version did not log the EPD position: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tLQiViAWLEckdVPTnKfVXCICHiAhzJZ0 Thanks for the compile, Dan. What do you ...

Re: what is the best engine for big material handicap?

In US scholastic tournaments where sometimes the game is played without a clock, the TD has the discretion to enforce timed play by introducing a clock, if the game drags on too long.

Re: Split off from 'Last good Stockfish'

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a release of Bluefish in an official fork to check it out :) So, did this happen and I missed it? I thought that you were going to do it, take up programming I mean. :) I believe that you already managed to get Large Pages working in Stockfish Ovyron, a good while bac...

Re: What was the last good Stockfish?

Thanks a lot, I'll check it out. I thought Carotino was Roberto Munter, though I may be wrong on that one. :D

Re: CCRL, FIDE and Ratings

I know that in some way, humans are basically being "outsearched" when they blunder as well, but there are also psychological, emotional etc factors that contribute to human blunders. How interesting would it be to write an algorithm that simulates (and randomizes or something) the moods, positiona...
