Re: Delphil 2.9g beta 3 (4CPU) - Shredder 7 (4CPU) : Playche

Technically, it's a Slav Defense (1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6) with hybrid elements of a Gruenfeld thrown in.

In a regular Colle, the c-pawn goes to c3 (not c4) and White plays for an e3-e4 advance, and sometimes e3-e4-e5 (ironically, that's similar to Black's set-up in this game.

Thanks Tom, that page would've been very hard to get at, otherwise. Wonder why...

Well, he's really right when he says others have used TWIC as a starting point for their paid service... :(

Aquarium?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy Aquarium by itself (without having to repurchase an engine all over again) ? The ChessOk site has Aquarium bundled with either Rybka4 or Houdini2.

Thanks,

Re: Some Questions to Chess Experts

It seems that (Deep) Shredder's 4-thread performance is much better. In the first tournament, all engines used just 1 cpu, whereas in the 2nd all engines are using 4 threads.

Re: Why isn't Hiarcs 64bit?

Sean, you should know that many of us don't care about Elo alone. Playing style is very important as well, perhaps even more so given that a 'weaker' Hiarcs is nowadays stronger than the human world champion. Even the 20th (or 30th, 40th etc.) ranked engine is immensely strong these days, and that c...

Re: Waiting the Discount....

Will Mark offer a discount for buyers of Hiarcs 13? That could ease the pain a little... :)

Re: SCCT Rating List - Calculation by EloStat 1.3

Hi Sedat,
What time control was used to produce these ratings? Any plans to rate Komodo 5 (I don't see it on the list)?

Thanks,
Carl
