Re: Delphil 2.9e - AnMon 5.75 : 1 - 0

Thanks. Another interesting game. I find these posts so much more interesting than just posting statistics. A well analyzed game with highlights is always interesting. I quite like the style of Delphil, so I'll go ahead and download it. It will surely be a good sparring partner for my engine DiscoC...

Re: Harry Schnapp books download?

Does anyone know where to download the late Harry Schnapp's books?

My web searches led to this site http://americanfoot.free.fr/echecs/hsbook.htm
but the link to the latest book has been hijacked, and the other downloads
are extremely slow. I'm assuming these books are free.

Thanks a lot,
Carl

Another nice win by Chiron from the V8 tournament

Graham earlier posted the Bxh7 sac win vs Shredder, but there's also the win from round 5 vs Deep Rybka, where Chiron chucks a pawn for longer term positional compensation and then just picks Rybka apart. Re: Delphil 2.9e beta 7 - Pro Deo 1.8 : 1 - 0

I ran Houdini 2.0c on my i3 3.3ghz quad with 1 GB hash enabled and it liked 13.a3, then 13.O-O-O after a few minutes. However, when I doubled its hash to 2 GB, this was the result: 299: Delphil 2.9e Beta 7 - ProDeo 1.8, 40 coups en 120 min; reste en 60 min 2012 rnbqk2r/4bp2/p2pp1p1/1p4Pn/3NP3/2N1B3/...

Re: Playoff Matches for my 36th Amateur Series

Graham,

Silly question -- are these playoff games, as are all your tournaments, rated games for the CCRL?

Best regards,
Carl

Here, 27.Bg6! was played and Critter put the game away very nicely.

Chess960 Match (best game so far: Critter-Houdini 1-0)

I've spent more time playing around with Winboard and now I can see that selecting a .pgn file of chess960 positions was not the way to go; instead, as HG Muller suggested, it's best to just let WB choose the starting positions randomly. That has solved the problem. I have to say that Winboard is a...

Very nice game, Gabriel, especially the Fischeresque 13.Nf5!? , just beautiful.
Nice exposition of all the highlights :)

Matthew:out

Hi Matthew,

Does this mean that FruitFly the engine is (no longer) available for download?

Thanks,

Re: Round 6 Schedule

Fantastic tournament, Graham!

Is it too late to change, but could you have made it a 9-rounder swiss? With 8 rounds color imbalances can occur ( i.e 5 blacks, 3 whites).
(I'd meant to ask this earlier)

Money still on Houdini in this one :)
