Re: Stockfish 10 was released 29.11.2018

Re: Stockfish 10 was released 29.11.2018

I did have something weird with Stockfish recently. I chose the latest build at the time for 4040 testing, and after 100 games it was -30 Elo to Stockfish 10. Yes I know that is a tiny sample, but the chances of it recovering that 30 Elo and gaining a further +30-40 Elo over the next couple of hundr...

Re: w49921 net

I've used the following nets in the past: 32930 42482 41800 42716 JH.T6.532 T40B.4-160 In some cases I chose the net that had been sent to TCEC. In other cases I just had to look at all the test results on discord, and try and make a judgement as to which was looking promising. Sometimes you make a ...

Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (23rd November 2019)

Chessbase is making a BIG deal about two little points of Fat Fritz over Stockfish, once Fat Fritz reaches over 1000 games that little difference of 2 points will banish or go away in favor of Stockfish  Yes, + 2 Elo is very precarious, it could lose that very easily with more games. Or it mi...

Re: w49921 net

As long as there is no official statement from the lc0 guys "THIS is our official net. Use THIS for rating lists" you can't blame the testers for taking one of the last nets when they start testing an engine. Exactly right. There are hundreds of nets, it is impossible to know which is the best one ...

Re: w49921 net

Some people say it’s 10-20 elo weaker than 42850, some say it’s about even. I can find tests in the leela chess discord on both sides of this issue. In most cases, various late t40 nets and t40 derived nets are within a few points of each other. It is a really big problem with Lc0 ratings list test...

Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (23rd November 2019)

Anyone who conscientiously tests Lc0 against AB Engines knows, there is a Lc0 Ratio for reliable results. The Leela ratio is very useful for comparing two machines - Machine A with GPU A and CPU A vs machine B with GPU B and CPU B. If the Leela ratio on machine A is 1.0 and on machine B it is 2.5, ...
