Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (19th October 2019)

Probably just the blitz time control. Lc0 needs longer time controls to really come alive in my experience.

On the other hand, Stockfish 2019-10-09 on a modest 8CPU machine is a beast at blitz.

Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (12th October 2019)

May I suggest that engines running with GPU be counted as multi-CPU? It feels very wrong to be comparing engines running on a RTX2080 with single core engines (normalized to a very old single core at that...) and then when you go to the "multi-CPU" list and those same engines don't show up at all. ...

Re: Allie v0.5 released

Or more to the point, how is this 0.5 different from the 0.5 I've already had for a couple of months at least ?

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney October

Well I'm always in favour of an increment. But HG ran 5+1 and this one was 5+2 so it was a bit longer.

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney October

I certainly won't enter Lc0 again. The whole tournament probably took half an hour longer than it should have because of Lc0's ridiculous shuffling of pieces in the endgame.

Re: GUI under lan

I have a question. Please write what GUI to use to be able to play via LAN on two computers. If you are talking about playing engine vs engine matches on two machines over a LAN - ask the SSDF people, they do it all the time although they may use a direct connection with RS232 or RS232 to USB conve...

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney October

It was stated in the finger notes for Belfish that it was a Stockfish derivative. "1, StockFish derivative. 2: experimenting with evaluation function, with small techniques for speeding up code execution, with compiling options …" It started yesterday with the default 2500 rating and the McMahon sys...

I wonder how Alliestein will rate with an RTX 2080 in FRC ? Probably as good as it did here http://ccrl.chessdom.com/ccrl/404/ ?
Probably quite well, and that wouldn't be a surprise becuase an RTX2080 would be a ridiculous mis-match against 1CPU engines.

Re: Lc0 + 320x24.J13B.2-swa-136000 vs. Stockfish 250919 TC= 30m+30s

There are many types of GPUs. Are we to assume that 2 threads work just as well on 980, 1080, RTX 2060, RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 ti. Even when these cards at the top of performance stack. Run many times faster then the GPU cards on the lower end of the stack. Hmmm Yes. I use the default 2 t...
