Re: possible SF regression (testposition) ?

Thanks for your reply Louis :-)
Yes, thats right...there are much more positions (mainly midgame-positions) which are handled much better by SF-versions before 26. january !

possible SF regression (testposition) ?

As a notorious SF-tester (private) i noticed that since about 2 months the newest SF-dev.-versions have problems with the famous "Kasparov-Topalov"-game from 1999. In the position below SF (Timestamp: 1390645772 from january 25.) "realized" quite quickly that after Re7 white is at least not worse [D...

Re: A Merry Christmas mate in 20

Rybka's PV is quite weird and its actually wrong...according to "Chest 5.2" there is no mate in 15 after 6...Rxh7 (wich would be a mate in 21) after a brute force search ! edit: stupid as i am i realized its a 6-men egtb and its a mate in 21 after 6...Rxh7 with 7. Qxg4 ;-) regards and happy new year...

Re: An hard test position

Curiousely current SF-dev.-version finds it on a core2duo e6600 (winXP 32) very quickly here. in the first try it found Rxf8 in a few seconds, so i gave it a 2nd try with the following output : FEN: 2k2Rqr/pp4nr/4p1p1/P2p2b1/1PpP2N1/2P3BP/4R3/4QBK1 b - - 0 33 Stockfish_13110722_32bit: 1/1 00:00 117 ...

Re: Testposition

Thank you Marek for your investigation...so the problem seems to be quite hard for our all engines :-)....nice, to have seen one confirmation that 1.a3 is best here...for a human quite easy to understand imo after you entered the position "by brain"
