Re: Brilliancy, SF+NNUE vs Lc0 at CCC. link for this pgn pls

Beautiful game indeed !!! Thanks for posting. I would like to know where the book line ended though ... and where the engines were playing on their own. The first few opening moves looked like they were not by the same engines.

Re: playing like a human should do it

I really doubt any human could have played like that black side played. Humans simply cannot calculate things accurately when there is a combination of deep tactics and tempos to calculate simultaneously. Intuition might guide them to the correct path on some of the moves, and of course if there is ...

Re: Regium Chess — Most likely an elaborate SCAM!!

There is no doubt the technology to do what is in the video is available today ... the thing is at what price point? I think that was what made the Fund me thing called a scam. Making a certain item is one thing, making it at a price point that is feasible economically can be a completely different ...

Re: A very interesting post

I agree and have been thinking that for a while now. A single NNUE evaluation is very limited at 20mb if you use that evaluation for all the phases of the game. But if you manage to find an algo that can correctly steer into specialized evaluation modules then there should be a tremendous amount of ...

Re: Sure no one here can beat this simple free smartphone engine!

I don't know if anyone has tried playing against Lichess SF. It says AI on it so I am guessing it must be SF NNUE. I tried it at bullet 1 0 and got clobbered. Up to level 6 I managed to win quite easily ... but I only managed a few draws at level 7 after many tries. It is unnerving how quickly it pl...

Re: SF+NNUE 16 cores aganst Stockfish-dev 16 cores and Leela

In my earlier post I reported my test but as I see it escaped the attention. It is pity but the title of a post can not be modifiable later so I obliged to repeat the part of my test. Test 2 NNUE-net = SV-2138 HASH = 2GB Leela ver.0.25.1 Threads = 6, NNCache=20000000, Backend= Multiplexing, Backend...

Re: SF+NNUE 16 cores aganst Stockfish-dev 16 cores and Leela

If this score holds then things look like SF will be ahead even on 8 core against 2 x 2080Ti Lc0. Not sure if your network is the strongest network for SF NN but things are progressing so fast that in 2 to 4 weeks there will probably be some fast gains for SF NN and then things will stabilize. By th...

Re: Progress of Stockfish in 6 days

It is indeed incredible! Who would have thought that evaluation makes such a huge impact! So much for bean counting! I had always thought that a good evaluation was a shortcut to deep calculation, but never would have I imagined it to this level. The progress being made at closing the gap in speed b...

Re: this will be the merge of a lifetime : SF 80 Elo+

I think the main reason for switching to Classical search and creating a hybrid has nothing to do with Classical evaluation being better ... just that it seems that with less pieces on the board depth of calculation makes a difference. If the classical evaluation runs 50% faster it can perform bette...

Re: Sure no one here can beat this simple free smartphone engine!

I have the Chess.com application for Iphone and it estimates that on full power it rated 3000 ELO + with even one thread. On my Iphone it gives me the option of 3 threads. I am guessing this is probably a SF android version. If so, this would make it incredibly strong and I doubt even top GM's would...
