Re: Cray Blitz

Anyone know how you enter the moves? No matter what way I enter it, it responds the move is illegal. It asks me if it should play white, no matter if I enter "Y" or "YES" it tells me it's my move. Then when I enter a move like d4 or d2-d4 it tells it's illegal. I also tried Nf3 but it said it was il...

Match between two engines from a given position?

Is there a gui that would allow me to setup a game between two engines from a given position? I know how to setup a position and select a single engine to analyze the position but I can't seem to figure out how to select two engines to play each other from that starting position. Thanks for any help..

Re: Banksia GUI released

This is a very nice gui, I especially like the multiple games that can be played at the same time. I do have one suggestion. I find it difficult to discern which engine is playing with the white pieces and which one is playing black If you look at the picture below, wouldn't it be better if the smal...

Re: Banksia GUI released

When creating a new tournament between engines is there a way to get it to schedule the games more like how a human tournament would be scheduled? What I mean by that is if I am watching multiple games at once I don't want to watch one engine play multiple games at the same time, I want see multiple...

Re: Teams of chess engines in a league with schedules\playoffs

ChessGUI has a team v team option, but each member of one team is set up to play all members of the other team. However, editing the schedule file to play on a board by board basis is fairly easy. You'll see I have run numerous team v team matches this way. The last was here: http://kirill-kryukov....

Teams of chess engines in a league with schedules\playoffs

I would like to create teams of chess engines and have them compete against other teams of chess engines. Put them all in a league, with a schedule and eventually playoffs. Like real sports teams, you might have one or two superstars (Lc0, Stockfish) on your team, it's how strong your teams is as a ...

Re: Sargon 1978 UCI Available

Bill Forster, author of the Tarrasch GUI, has released a UCI version of Sargon, the well known program from the Spracklens. I had a copy of Sargon in the early 80's running on my Commodore VIC-20, using a black and white television for a monitor! It was my first chess software that wasn't in a dedi...

Re: When will the chess programmers write an engine that plans ?

How do Lc0 and Stockfish differ in regards to solving mate problems?
Say there is a mate in 10 puzzle, is Lc0 really going to strategize or plan?
