Re: Stockfish DD x64 @ CEGT 5'+3" pb=on

Gerald,
Am I interpreting your results correctly? Versus Houdini 4.0 x64, SF DD has scored 24.0-26.0 with ELO of 3103 versus H4 ELO 3117?

Re: 3Champs reloaded

I've been kicking around one like this:

1. 16 cores
2. ponder, off?
3. TC: 150+30
4. 16 or 32GB hash table
6. Tablebases: Syzygy 3-4-5 TB.
7. Opening test suites: Noomen - six moves?
8. Color reversal for each opening.
9. Engine Settings: Will need some input on this.
10. 100 games each?

Re: Syzygy EGTB's via Torrent Thread

Wolff, I asked all of my opponents at chess.com at the outset of each game whether or not they were using or would use an engine. If they didn't, I didn't; if they did, I did. I ascribe my ascension to #1 at chess.com as being more attributable to my own chess playing skills. That site had/has many ...

Re: A question concerning testing methods

Stockfish and Komodo do much better against Houdini in a direct clash than in a larger pool of engines. . . .Stockfish mostly play self tests. . . I understand that self tests tell the developer whether or not and by how much the new version is better or worse than the previous version. But players...

Re: 3Champs reloaded

Larry,
I now have the Syzygy 3-4-5 TB, but I'm not sure that it would make a lot of sense for me to stage a LTC event between the Top Guns (K1142, SF DD and H4Pro) with two using TB and one not. Seems to me that it should all or none.
