Re: Newest Crafty.

Hello Ernest: kirr.homeunix.org is signalled as a phishing site... I can't have access to it! This post is not about Crafty but about http://kirr.homeunix.org . There was a problem three weeks ago: Norbert home page ! Et tu, Norbert ? I have not tried to access to this web, just in case. Regards fr...

Re: Anyone familiar with Tornado 4.88 engine

I have some pgn files that for the most part were clear to read until I came across the following line. can someone explain what {Buch 0s} means in the following? I noticed there are times that I see 0s or 1s or 2s ???? 1. e4 {Buch 0s} 1... c5 {Buch 0s} 2. Nf3 {Buch 0s} 2... e6 {Buch 0s} 3. Thx, Le...

Re: Syzygy EGTB's via Torrent Thread

Well the entire set is up now and seems to be running solid. Even with only 1 seed right now, it went up from 20-30k to now about 1/2 meg. As more people join in it'll only get faster. Enjoy! Let me know if there are any problems or concerns. I made sure to run a verify right before creating the to...

Re: Current State of EGTB support/probing and such

I posted Syzygybases introduction to the EGTB Online site . (This is the first update in 5 years. If my time permits (and this is a big if) I'll make the site more up-to-date. The site served its purpose back in the time, but now it's so badly outdated that I might as well start from scratch....

Re: New 6-piece tablebases

I have now added an option "Syzygybases Path" that can be set to a list of directories where the files can be found. Directories are separated by ";" on Windows and by ":" on Unix. https://github.com/syzygy1/Stockfish Note that the latest version does not look anymore at the environment variables R...

Re: The public IPON is finished.

...What reasons did he give for quitting, anyone know?... Nothing that serious. I am just not "burning" that much for computer chess as some years ago and became a bit anoyed about justifying a free service. I continue with testing (maybe a little less and more relexed regarding the piciked engines...

Re: New 6-piece tablebases

One thing that's not clear to me (I haven't tested Stockfish yet) is - if the probing code can search multiple directories. In the context of torrent sharing of the files it's convenient to store 3-4-5-piece files in one directory and 6-piece files in another directory. If probing code expects all ...

Re: New 6-piece tablebases

Hi Kirill: Thanks for the link, but I have a question. I did not see anywhere to set the path to the syzygy TBs in this compile. There is a parameter to set the probe, but how does one specify where the TBs are located? I think you set the path in environment variables RTBWDIR and RTBZDIR, as menti...

Re: New 6-piece tablebases

I've updated to the latest sources and created a tag "sf_4_tb". To get Stockfish 4 with my changes the following should work: $ git clone https://github.com/syzygy1/Stockfish.git $ cd Stockfish $ git checkout sf_4_tb or just use this link: https://github.com/syzygy1/Stockfish/archive/sf_4_tb.zip No...

Re: Syzygy EGTB's via Torrent Thread

Will you be making separate torrents for the WDL and DTZ sets? Certainly hope so. Actually I hadn't thought of that. At the moment a torrent is running live for the entire set. Can understand the reasoning for this, but at the same time, the more people we have going into it the faster it'll be for...
