Re: Komodo release

Sacrilege I suppose...but why anyone would use engines in 'correspondence chess' is beyond me...except that others use them and there is no way to prevent 'cheating'. I've likened it to a swimming meet, but with each side using self propelled water tight engines to get them around the course and to ...

Re: slight problem

Done.
It does occur to me that the poster probably meant Larry was aware of it and not Don. Thanks!

Re: slight problem

I spoke too soon. Even With Komodo 5.1r2 as the default engine. I'm showing a depth of 54 right now - Analysis pane, 3 lines considered.

I've been told the programmers knew of this and were looking into it...but...

Well, I will not buy Komodo 6 unless I know this bug is fixed.

Re: slight problem

Thanks much for the tip (!)...it does indeed seem to be a way around the problem under the last K5.2 release.

Re: slight problem

Seriously, does ANYONE know if the Chessbase multi-thread analysis issue I mentioned has been fixed for Komodo 6?

Re: slight problem

Will Komodo 6 have the same problem as Komodo 5.1r2 when it comes to analysis within Chessbase? I am referring to the depth indicator spiraling out of control when it comes to MultiPV. This happens when you switch the thread number from, say 1 to 3 or 4 and there is some bad communication between th...

Re: Komodo 5.1r2 64-bit 'bug'

That is due to multivariation analysis. The depth is included in the copyable engine output, in singlevariation analysis only (unfortunately, in ChessBase interfaces). Yes, that does appear to be the case - the bug manifests itself in multi-variation analysis , not single variation. If I have, say ...

Re: Komodo 5.1r2 64-bit 'bug'

If you can tell me how to copy and paste...or otherwise get the output into the post, I'll do it. I'm staring at a depth of 20438 at the moment.... If I right click and 'clip analysis', all I get is this...which does not show the depth: 751: Smith,B - Zhang,F, Tenneessee Open r1bqk2r/pp3pbp/2n1pnp1/...

Komodo 5.1r2 64-bit 'bug'

New to the forum. No, it's not a bug in evaluation or playing...but unlike the previous versions, it does not work properly in Chessbase 12. The main reason for this version (5.1) was for multi-core operation. However, when you use multiple CPU's in analysis (the reason I have the last 3 versions of...
