Re: asmFish

the historically accepted idea of correspondence chess (one on one...just not face to face) is truly dead. It was never one on one, that was the point. It doesn't really matter where the move comes from, it's either yours or it comes from an outside source you trust more. What's funny is, in classi...

Re: asmFish

Hello all, I'm continuing to search for the tactically strongest engine to assist my ICCF performance. Precisely why true 'Correspondence Chess' is dead. It is no longer 'one on one'...brain vs brain. It is merely...an illusion for people's egos. I quit it over 15 years ago (about 2399 ICCF) precis...

Komodo CEGT 40/20 and 'Strength'

Hopefully I am not barking up a dead tree or wasting anyone's time....this is mostly asked of Team Komodo, Team CEGT...or anyone who really has something to say. I am going to hope my formatting stays true for this cut/paste. These are the Komodo versions since 9 for the CEGT 40/20 just released. I ...

Re: TCEC S15, END of an ERA event is much more Brutal than I thought!

I will use AB engines for a long time. I cant afford and don't understand how to get LZ working on a computer. SF with a great book is very close if not better than LZ anyway. True, unless one gets their jollies off of thinking 'they' are doing something in actual play (why I abandoned 'corresponde...

Re: Komodo 13 released

~snip~ The scores reported by an MCTS engine like Komodo MCTS already reflect the possiblility of the opponent going wrong in plausible ways. Maybe it doesn't do it the same way you would, but at least to a significant degree it does what you want. That's really interesting. If this is possible wit...

Re: Komodo 13 released

No recent fritz update in quite a while now. Someone said they'll give fritz and chessbase 7-piece support, but when is another question. Fritz...is mainly about the features in the GUI, not about simple chasing of (rating) numbers. They are too smart a company to chase numbers and instead focus on...

Re: Komodo 13 released

Mark [/quote] If you means does an MCTS MultiPV search had varying quantity or tree and quality of search, yes it does. But those searches are based on win probabilities, and so should be searched less deeply or widely. I think when people use MultiPV they want to know what are the good lines and ar...
