When will SF (or Asmfish) catch with the alphazero that demo
In terms of elo estimation, if SF (and Asmfish) continue to increase their elo at a similar (or slightly lesser) rate in future, in how many years will it (they) catch the "old" alphazero that demolished the castrated (due to time control) but on steroids (due to hardware) SF8?

Re: Houdini with a six point lead near the halfway point of
Ok thanks, I didn't know this. I thought there was a great variability between each dev versions, even though the average nps on the bench positions stays around a mean that doesn't change much with time anymore.syzygy wrote:SF's nps roughly does stay the same over many patches.

Re: Houdini with a six point lead near the halfway point of
Why are people comparing the nps of Komodo in stage 2 (different engine), with Komodo of another stage? SF dev versions have very different nps from a version to the next. After applying several many patches you cannot expect the nps to roughly stay the same. I am not saying it is meaningless to do ...

Re: TCEC 10
Next season I hope TCEC will pick Asmfish instead of Stockfish.
Choosing Stockfish is worse than the Komodo 20% slow down due to a NUMA bug.
Not only because it is intentional but also because the slow down is greater than 20% I believe. Anyone please correct me.

Re: TCEC oddity
No such problem here. I've removed the junk from the website with ublock origin and umatrix. Have a look at the clean and simple look focusing on chess.

Re: 250 ELO in ~ 10 months
Enormous thanks to SFZH programmers. They realized one of my dreams. I posted a few threads a few years ago (in Winboard forum and here under another account if I remember well) asking if someone could make SF play zh or improve Sunsetter. I love zh (more than chess) and I plan to teach my 1 year ol...

Re: Testing of Asmfish in CCRL?
I don't want to test ASMFish. I'd much rather test the latest Stockfish development version. In fact we do that on the blitz list from time to time - Stockfish 071017 64-bit was tested recently, although only on 1 CPU. Thanks Grahams for your honest replies. My guess is that even though Asmfish doe...
