Re: SPRT question

My engine it is not as strong as stockfish but I have had different result in tuning the futility margin with self play than with gauntlet.

With self play I have reached a lower margin but the gauntlet said that it was not good with other engines.

Re: Super Fast 'Looking for magics' 1.0

To generate the magic numbers and the databases you can have a look at this code: http://www.g-sei.org/wp-content/uploads ... ati_MB.zip
It is largely taken from the chessprogramming.

Re: Testing the Search Function

I bring the search function, I remove all the pruning and instead of calling the qsearch I generate a random number and I trasform in a Perft. In this way I can check the move ordering, that every move would played one single time and no move would skipped. I can check hash, killer and history and I...

Re: A little improvement to the Texel's tuning method

1) Ok, it's not a real problem to have 2 or more position with different results 2) I cannot find in this way the real score of the position, but I can find a good approximation in a very little time. And the tuning seems much better than comparing the evaluation with the final result. This is the b...

Re: A little improvement to the Texel's tuning method

I use Quiescence search. This method gives a better tuning result I haven't compared it with the Texel's approach but I think there is a big difference. The idea is that all the games start from a draw position and the result goes to 1, 0 or stay draw. And the evaluation can never match a 1 o 0 resu...

A little improvement to the Texel's tuning method

I have used it to tune my engine Pedone with very good results. I have downloaded about 200000 games from CCRL played by the top engine at 40/40 time control. From each game I have extracted 7-8 random positions and I have put together in a file (fen.csv) the FEN string of every position, the final ...

Re: Parallel search

That solutions solved some error related to the compilation. Then there was some problems with uninitialized variables caught with valgrind. Now I solved the problem, I have used similar names for the mutex so I lock with one and unlock with the other. That was the problem and because I used really ...

Re: Parallel search

I have solved it starting a new codeblocks project.
I'm sorry but I wasn't able to understand the problem.
