Current top engines (and in fact any regular chess engine developed over the last 70 years or so) have nothing to do with weakly solving the game.
Ouch. ;)

https://i.imgur.com/PLu7LcN.png [/img] Yes, promising enough to be a TCEC champion! I must say that what Houdart has done is absolutely phenomenal on every single level. I thought that his engine was dead in the water when he had disappeared for quite some time. Then he comes back like this....

Re: Houdini 6 vs Stockfish dev 170917 on AMD Ryzen 1800x

I mean, I'm not disputing Houdart's claim that it is not possible to implement Stockfish Framework ideas into Houd...

Re: Houdini 6 vs Stockfish dev 170917 on AMD Ryzen 1800x

I am happy for Robert he beats a whole team of Stockfish developers How has he beaten them if the score is equal ?? Anyway, thanks for the Results. It shows that SDV will be ahead in a month or 2, while Houdini 7 will be released next year. So......draw your own conclusions if one should buy H 6 or...

Re: Computer vs computer chess soon to an end?

Provocative question to provocative title: what is the point of running someone else's engine using your personal account in a public arena? Running someone else's engines in a tournament, I understand. Running your own engine in an on-line environment against other engines (or humans), I understan...

Re: Computer vs computer chess soon to an end?

See that nearly everything draws? rgds Because every victory is that much more satisfying. And engines still can lose. Won ...

Re: Houdini 6 has been released

This means Stockfish dev would be ~ 66 Elo stronger than Stockfish 8... Surely you follow the SF development and probably know that the current SF dev is at best 30 Elo better than SF 8 (see the regression tests at the SF development site). http://www.cruxis.com/chess/houdini.htm the strongest engi...
