Re: ICGA's 2015 World Computer Chess Championship/Events

If Stockfish 6 will not be present the "Championships" will be meaningless. Komodo might show up to, to complete the work of the sekretariat. If that happens the organisation should play the GUNDA-1 card with SF6 and get some kind of competition. It is not far from my house, yet I will not enter or...

Re: ICGA's 2015 World Computer Chess Championship/Events

Rather the other way around. SF will not participate in this tournament, because it's a big farce. Everything about this ICGA tournament is wrong: * one game elimination = statistically meaningless results * we would have to fly to Leiden with our hardware + hotel for a week, at our own expense. al...

Re: Are you absolutely sure ?

There is also a recent scaling fix to Stockfish that improves SMP behavior. It is possible that Stockfish on really high end hardware no longer takes a back seat. On my 20-core PC, Stockfish is clearly stronger since that awesome SMP patch. The depth is phenomenal now. Perhaps the 50 Elo gained on ...

Re: Stockfish now the best engine in the world !

SF 6 is now the best engine in the world ! Komodo is commercial one behind SF, so why SF not be commercial ? close source code and sell it ! i don't understand they, may be they are not need money ?! The reason why SF is so damn strong is precisely that it is open source. SF is the strongest engine...

Re: What's Vasik Rajlich doing today?

They argue with logic and proofs, and people will choose their paths anyway. You're telling Ed that he doesn't know Computer Science, do YOU know who Ed is? Terry knows. What he is doing is trying to shut down this thread by posting insults. Nice tactic. Has often worked in the past. That's a lie, ...

Re: Be careful where you buy Houdini 4, or you could get bur

It is good go see Houdart gone. The man clearly could care less about customer service. The guy literally wrote here that his business partners were basically more important than his customers. This thread is already dead; nevertheless, it should serve as an immediate example of how pathetically dis...

Re: Hash Sizes... Again.

If I am going to play an LTC game of let's say 120 minute\60 second increment then I think I will stick with 16 gigabytes as opposed to 1 gigabyte. Plain and simple. Using Komodo 8 at 120\60, it is quite clear that 16 gigabytes really amps up the NPS. There is nothing of a slowdown, not with my hard...

Re: TCEC Season 7 - Main Thread

Why do you keep defending Houdart's obvious unprofessionalism? Just respond with a simple email; that is all he needed to do. This is not rocket science. Of course the man looks at his emails.

Re: Arasan 17.2

I completely agree. I think Arasan is extremely underrated. I've been using the latest Stockfish development version (270514) Rockwood with very good hardware on ICC versus Jon's Arasan's account (ArasanX) and by no means is a match easy. I've found due to this release, Stockfish winning is difficul...
