Re: Status Quo, Stockfish 170315 vs Komodo 1400

Fantastic, look forward to the results ! On this monstrous hardware,it's actually a considerable long time control.... Dr.D I am not sure about it. It is not clear to me if stockfish does not get too many cpu to perform well. The first interesting test is if (n+1) cpu for stockfish are better than ...

Re: Match PGN link

About Stockfish, I m not sure than the last DEV is better than Stockfish 6. I runned some short tournament with many dev stockfish, none did better than Stockfish 6. Definitely some doubt about that, there is conflicting information about. I'd prefer the latest but let's see. AFAIK there is various...

Thanks Sean.
Ray says he feels a rematch coming on.
In case you are both wondering, you should be able to use the current SF again (the issues with c++11 have been resolved).

Re: Game 46 - Komodo's ambitious play fails. Now 7-4 Stockfi

GAME 46 - Komodo's ambitious ploy in giving up a piece for a couple of connected passed pawns fails to pay off, as Stockfish triumphs in the endgame. Stockfish now has a 7-4 lead, pretty much guaranteeing match victory. [pgn][Event "Komodo 1392 vs Stockfish 280"] [Site "Chess"] [Date "2015.03.10"] ...

Re: Game 34 - Stockfish persistence pays off. Match level at

GAME 34 - never say never! The game becomes locked up, but Stockfish keeps avoiding a 50 move draw. Eventually its persistence pays off as it makes a late breakthrough to gain a winning advantage. The match now level again at 4-4. [pgn][Event "Komodo 1392 vs Stockfish 280"] [Site "Chess"] [Date "20...

Re: Stockfish 02032015 vs SF6

Dear Clemens and Ray, I think Ray's suggested version [1] is a good one. It is the last version before the c++11 branch was merged in (which takes some work to track since the history was merged in, and doesn't appear in one lump); this version is SF6 plus some tunings and eval improvements, and of...

Re: Stockfish 02032015 vs SF6

Thank you I am planning to host a long time engine tournament, and I want that the strongest SF version should participate. At the moment I get the impression that SF020315 is far away from being the strongest. I am clueless what to do, what a weird situation :( I know, very frustrating. I started ...

Re: Stockfish 02032015 vs SF6

It looks like the March 2nd is a regression on 4 cores. The test is still early on maybe it will change after more games. Re: Stockfish now the best engine in the world !

Ok, agree its not easy to close the source, but they can still let it open and work on it, but they can let users support his work with a donation maybe ? We do accept donations. And SF only gets stronger thanks to donations. These donations take the form of CPU power (electricity bill), and time/e...

Re: Stockfish 6 to be released in hours

The key thing is that engine authors should release only when they're happy to do so, and shouldn't allow themselves to be pestered or pushed by others. Yeah, sure ! I know Larry Kaufmann sends you his latest developmental versions, so its easy for you to say ! ...you're sitting pretty ! Thi...
