Re: Congrats the Komodo Team

I think I need to do some more programming to take advantage of an 8 NUMA node machine. All those cores trying to access memory requires more speical memory management, so we will work on it. Komodo was getting about 70-90 million nps for much of the positions, but faster in endgames. With some wor...

Re: Congrats the Komodo Team

Komodo won the WCCC. After 9 rounds Komodo has 7 points at 9 game. Komodo is 1.5 points ahead of Chiron. Komodo guaranteed to be champion with one game left. We now that Stockfish and Stockfish derivatives like Cfish, asmFish are the strongest engines. Lc0 is as strong as Stockfish with very powerf...

Re: Komodo elo at different level

I have always appreciated that by setting Komodo levels an equal time-independent force is achieved. I would like to understand better what elo correspond to different TC. Can someone with experience tell me that I play Komodo at different levels? I am interested in knowing what rating and / or wou...

Re: WCCC 2019 Macau..

That is about the same as watching football on TV, and thinking you are a great sportsman just because the team you root for won. No, it's knowing that I'd play football better than all the guys on TV. Namely, using CFish with some decent book remotely I would defeat these guys, so the're not worth...

Re: WCCC 2019 Macau..

They invite and if few come, it isn’t there fault. It's their fault if they haven't figured out chess engine games can be played remotely. A true world chess champion would be the best engine available in the best hardware available, with the best openings available, and that is a thing that doesn'...

Re: Question for Nelson Hernandez - TCEC power consumption

The power draw from the TCEC GPU machine will almost certainly be higher than from the CPU machine, but I don't know by how much exactly. Are you asking out of general curiosity or is there something specific you are interested in? Tom's hardware has some GPU stress tests. Depending on how good the...

Nose Breaker

I was just told that "Lomonosov" means "nose breaker". I have always admired that great work done on the Lomonosov 7-piece tablebases, and think this is a great name for them, although I know they were named for the university they were computed at.
