Re: BIOS question

BIOS updates are mostly compatibility issues with new CPU, DRAM vendors, PCI-E extension cards, boot options etc. If your system was up and running - BIOS upgrade won't change anything in 99% cases. At download section of your motherboard vendor site you can always find BIOS manual downloads and cha...

Re: Leela outplays Spike from what should be a drawn endgame

Enabled, but taking into account Spike's search depth - it will never reach 6-man position from move #31
Maybe from move #60 it can reach TB Hits

Re: LC0 uses positional skills to "Lock Down" Gull 3

I analyzed this game again, there is no big nor any obvious blunder committed by Stockfish 11 here. Excellent light square domination on K side of SF which proves fatal. just SF blunder, no domination +4,04 32.Re3 Kg7 33.Qb2 Kg6 34.Ra1 Rg8 +3,48 32.Qb2 Qf5 33.Qd2 Bg4 34.Re3 Kh7 +3,33 32.Ree1 Kf5 33...

Re: What is the best way to obtain the 7-piece tablebases?

Supercomputers provide transparent (via kernel related special software) access to all memory as a globally adressable block, though it is not fastest possible approach (penalty can be 10-20x times, in some cases 100-1000x times). Specially written algo can be faster, but any cluster-unaware program...

Opposite side get run command only after first side has made move. Then it goes fine. Is this lim...

How to automate 4 runs of Monte-Carlo (AB + NN)

For a given position (FEN or PGN) I want to run 4 different engine games and store 4 outcomes (TCEC-style early adjudication is favorable): 1) AB-engine vs itselft (e.g. Stockfish) 2) NN vs itselft (e.g. Lc0) 3) AB engine [as white] vs NN engine 4) AB engine [as black] vs NN engine Is there any tool...

Re: What is the best way to obtain the 7-piece tablebases?

how many piece tablebase would it be able to solve and how long would it take to calculate them ? http://tb7.chessok.com/articles/Top8DTM_eng This article from the Lomonosov tablebase page estimates that the size of an 8-man tablebase will be ~100x larger than a 7-man table base and will take a min...
