Re: Which is stronger AlphaZero( 5000 TPU) or Stockfish(30.000 Cores)

no matter how many cubits you pack you cannot increase number of qubits, since on large (macro-world) scale, wave function collapses (decoherence happens). only a few (in order of 1...100) qubits can work in a quantum state. systems with more than few (currently 8...10, possibly dozens) qubits work...

Of course, I guess I should just acquire 3.5 instead of speculating :)
3.5 also works fine, I didn't notice I could un-check "Common max CPU cores" under UCI tab.
When unchecked - Threads option arrives in per-engine settings

Re: Which is stronger AlphaZero( 5000 TPU) or Stockfish(30.000 Cores)

I don't understand. Just set the UCI option in Arena or whatever to Threads=4 and 8. Play say 400 fast games at fixed time . It's also educative to do the match at fixed depth, with Lazy SMP more threads to fixed depth is usually stronger. Thread option in Arena is not per-engine, it is per-GUI. Sa...

LGA 1366 CPUs (Core i7-950, i7-960, i7-965 Extreme, i7-975 Extreme, i7-980X Extreme) have 3 memory channels

LGA 1366 MoBos have 6 DIMM slots

Re: Which is stronger AlphaZero( 5000 TPU) or Stockfish(30.000 Cores)

With Lazy SMP fixed depth is not a correct measure of strength. Probably the 8 threaded search is wider to the same depth compared to 4 threaded search, and probably stronger to the same depth. how to run test tournament? I use Arena 3.5, cannot find how to assign different Threads count for partic...

Re: Which is stronger AlphaZero( 5000 TPU) or Stockfish(30.000 Cores)

Against aliens I would use NN. No matter how strong Stockfish is - it is open-source. Aliens can hire Houdart and make some minor improvements. You need some obfuscation NPS sort of does because LazySMP can keep widening the search. But as the search widens it also becomes less efficient On 4C/8T CP...

Re: Javascript/WASM Engine with permissive license

For online game (is pondering possible??) 40 minute time control seems unapropriate. Top hardware is unexpected.
Maybe fortification with deep-book (Brainfish-style) can help.
