Re: Pascal code to read a Polyglot book

Re: Schooner Version 2.2 Release

ohh ok. I just read in the readme file that it is Winboard Xboard engine. Yeah, originally it was winboard/xboard only, but the latest versions support UCI as well. Dennis does recommend running it as a winboard engine, but from what I have read before you use the Fritz interface, so I guess you wo...

There were quite a few drawn matches. Too bad they had to be decided by coin flip.
For the knockout tournament, the expression is (from the movie The Hunger Games) "May the odds be ever in your favor". :)

Re: Schooner Version 2.2 Release

Has anyone tested the new features? Jesse Gersenson once requested a Linux build. I was looking for feedback on the stability for the Linux versions. Has anyone tried the to use the polyglot FRC books, or the polyglot14FRC book maker? I made several little tournaments with Cutechess Cli, under Linu...

... what about the similarity issue ? table by Ed Schroeder - no 95 http://rebel13.nl/html/big.html That nonsense was already answered and moved to the Engine Origins Section by the moderators. Nice! Any estimate of elo gain compared to 2.1?
I cannot help you on elo gain. My expectations are usually wrong. :)

Lars Sandin has brought to my attention that Schooner times out in Arena 1 minute - no increment blitz. The other GUI's and time controls seem to be okay for now.
You mean Lars Hallestrom. :)

Thanks, I look forward to running it at chess960 :)

Which GUIs did you test it under for chess960 ? I will run it under Cutechess or ChessGUI.
FRC/960 has run successfully under Arena, Winboard, and Cutechess. ChessGUI was not tested, but it should work if it supports Fischer Random Chess.
