Hi Mike,
it seems to be a pure DOS program.
No Windows installation described in the manual.
I had a quick try in a VirtualBox Win98SE machine, using it from a CLI hangs the machine. Shutdown/restart in DOS mode as well.
Works fine in a DOS 6.22 VirtualBox.
I use it in a DosBox emulator.
Eric

Re: The Secret of Chess
How much does it cost ? I find no price so far - even on the buy now page! 20 euro full price. will change some things on the site in a short while, first want to get some feedback. PS. more inquisitive visitors would probably try the buy now button, see what paypal wants to charge them, and if hap...

Re: Oracle VM VirtualBox 5.1.22 and Windows 64-bit systems
Hi, I am using W7 64bits unable to run 16bits Dos programs. I confirm Ziggurat (1992 version) runs fine with DosBox + Win3.1 Setting up Windows 3.1 to run with DosBox is easy. You should be able to find necessary stuff here: http://www.win3x.org/win3board/ Another option is indeed to install an Orac...

Re: ProDeo 2.3 [the BUDDY version]
Thanks Ed, nice gift.
Had to substitute "no popcount" sf7.exe in both SF71 & SF72 sub-directories due to my old CPU, but seems to work fine that way.
Just sharing the trick...
Kind regards, Eric

Re: Marvin 2.0.0 released
Thank you Martin.
Nice package, including book and various .exe compiled (32/64bits, popcnt/no).
Thus I also managed to get the 1.3.0 version as well, looking forward to discover both. I agree it is great to use engines with some history, background versions...

Re: What a fun in those times!
Hi, indeed Fritz3 requires /x parameter to gain access to extended memory for large hash size. You may specify the size, eg: fritz3 /x16384 But using DosBox you will in addition need to disable memory drivers, either in your globlal DosBox options file (useful for a quick test, but not the best way ...
