Have you tried Hiarcs?

Komodo has already come and gone on iOS with graphics reminiscent to the Sinclair Spectrum days.

One Android App that I have only found recently which I enjoy playing against is Metal Chess that contains the Greko 12.9 engine.

He also promised a IOS version but it also never materialised. Facebook quote from 18th December 2012 whilst talking about the Android version. Houdini will come with its own GUI, this is the most convenient solution for the vast majority of the users. - An iPad/iPhone version will be created later ...

I have a copy of WChess2K (WChess2000) that runs perfectly under ChessGenius Classic which is stronger than WChess 1.6
