Re: Swiss Chess Tournament

Hi Sergio,

If it's not too late, could you include Laser 1.3?

Thanks!

Re: Laser 1.3 x64 @ CEGT

Thanks, Gerhard! Interesting work, Adam. I've noticed this at one point too, although I thought of it as a compression of elo near the top - lower rated engines have roughly the same 40/4 and 40/40 ratings, but Stockfish's 40/40 rating is 100 lower than its 40/4 rating, since the draw rate and level...

Re: Laser 1.3 Release

Thanks Michael! I have included the compile in the release.

Laser 1.3 now has a 32-bit compile included with the release! There is no special optimization done for 32-bit at the moment but this should improve in a future release.

Re: Laser 1.2 Release

Hi Gregory,

I haven't run into any time losses in my own testing. I found that Arena often becomes very slow, especially during tournaments, and then scores the engines as losing on time. Are you sure that isn't what happened?

Re: Time controls for testing for 40/4

It depends. When you're still early in development you don't care too much about scaling, etc. and you can do quick tests with very short time controls and very few games. I used to test with 100 games at 15 sec / game. Once the engine gets stronger changes are harder to detect since each one gives ...
