Indeed, I have a compile of Crafty 23.8 called crafty-23.8-x64-sse3.exe, and that works fine.
Can you run 24.0 in a command window and paste the output there. No rc file or anything..

Re: Crafty 24.0

Crafty has changed a LOT. Particularly with all the old spaghetti-code for various O/S/hardware-configs pretty much gone (it now works for unix or windows, period, although "unix" includes linux, solaris, mac os x and such). The message certainly makes it sound like Peter's executable includes inst...

Re: Crafty 24.0

Neither of the two exes run on my AMD Phenom II X6. What version of Windows? And does your processor support at least SSE3? Peter Windows 8, and yes of course it has that support. Previous Crafty versions you have compiled have been fine. I've just uploaded new compiles for you to try, and I've tes...

Re: Crafty 24.0

Hi Peter, Thanks for the compile! Could you also possibly make a full-featured compiled version with the skill switch? (I still haven't learned how to compile engines myself. How hard would it be for a non-programmer to learn how to do this?) If you have Visual Studio 2008 or greater, I can upload ...

Re: Crafty 24.0

Finally got all the changes and cleanup done. A few notes: (1) Look at the new Makefile first. I now only have two O/S choices. one is -DUNIX which is what I use for my macs and linux boxes. The other choice is to leave the -DUNIX off, which makes it a windows program. (2) Quite a few of the -D opt...

That's my issue. The fun just.. left..

Sounds odd, but it's the way it feels.

Re: And.... I'm done.

Of course Graham.

I will still be doing Crafty compiles, but that's about it.
