Re: Trying out the Leela Hybrid engine (NN with AB)

Some thoughts: - Just when you want to see if leelafish prevents a “brilliant positional sacrifice,” you can’t lay your hands on one. Has anyone got a collection of leela positional stunners they can test against? - lowering threshold means many more positions will be looked at. Since the aux engin...

Re: Is AlphaZero-LC0 (Leela0) A chess Engine?

AlphaZero is not a chess engine but it is a chess machine.
But LeelaChessZero is a real chess engine, a UCI engine.

Re: Trying out the Leela Hybrid engine (NN with AB)

I have made a binary from a modified source of Leelafish in which I used fixed move time instead of fixed depth. My experience is using too much Stockfish it does not enhance the Elo of Leelafish but it decreases it. I think there is a great difference in style between Stockfish and Leela and becaus...

Re: Further development of Lc0: Lc1

There are lot of problems what can not be solved by zero approaching or we would need much more self play game. Beside the usage of non-self play games for teaching there are other invisible methods to influence the playing of an NN type engine - for e.g. - the modification of the policy head direct...

Re: Trying out the Leela Hybrid engine (NN with AB)

A question to you: Where is /boost/ directory and process.hpp file (for eg.) ? Your source does not contain them. You get boost from here: https://www.boost.org/ Thanks. Can you succeeded to compile the binary of Leelafish from source? For LC0 no need "Boost" libraries so I find its using peculiar ...

Re: Trying out the Leela Hybrid engine (NN with AB)

Hello, I'm KillerDucky the author of https://github.com/killerducky/lc0/wiki/LeelaFish thanks for testing it! Those using the engine know but to emphasize for others, the AuxEngine can be any UCI engine. It's only natural that Stockfish is the first choice, and implied by the name Leelafish....

Re: End of Era is there: SF is finally beaten!

Only some note to your dialog: 1, Nobody wrote about Chessbase or other classical type of chess books. The dimension of a chess book depend on the technique of its coding. A pure digital book is far smaller than a commercial .dtg book. 2, As in the games played by LC0 without outer opening book prov...

Re: End of Era is there: SF is finally beaten!

Leela learns patterns in self play games. In new positions she tries to find this patterns. That's why she is running faster with gpu which are optimized for calculating images. Leela don't save one single position in it's NN. She found something in the position which made her believe is winning. W...

Re: End of Era is there: SF is finally beaten!

There is no any "spectacular" and there is no any "plan" on the side of Leela. In reality the position after 19.-c4 and the good continuation is in the 32930net of Leela. To prove this I used the weak GTX 1060 to find the 20.Bg6 move. From net30100 to net32000 Leela want to move 20.Be4, 20.Bxc4, 20...
