Re: Whatever is current - Amazing Leela

What is/was your CC Elo? 2199. I guess now it's the time all my credibility goes down the drain because if all my claims were true I'd surely perform better. I'll claim that with everything that is available today it's really hard to win corr chess games, even Stockfish at Depth 40 is enough to sav...

Re: Whatever is current - Amazing Leela

... Modesty be damned, I haven't done anything but improving in the 10 years since then, and I probably have the most accurate backsolved chess tree graph in the world (at least after comparing it to Nelson Hernandez, Thomas Zipproth and Dann Corbit's efforts.) If you are right (and I can believe y...

Re: Whatever is current - Amazing Leela

To practice this method successfully you need not only a good "private book" but a lot of analysis (and time) for what you need a powerful PC- more stronger than a 10 years old with four cores. No, you don't. I've been proving that back when I had a slow 1CPU 32CPU and playing corr chess at the lev...

Re: buying a new computer

In general if one uses two systems like an AB engine and an NN engine for making analysis that one should be a good chess player because only that one should choose the right move if there is a difference in the value of the analyzed position between the two engines. So for a weaker chess player it...

Re: Whatever is current - Amazing Leela

I wonder what you mean by "true score". Haha, I was the same guy that a few weeks ago was saying that there's no such thing as a "true score". But it clearly does, and private books prove it, as they aim, and succeed, at having the best possible "true score" once out of book, and if it's high enoug...

Re: buying a new computer

The AMD Ryzen series have a serious drawback: They can not utilize the benefit of bmi2 supply.
I am afraid it will be in the case of Ryzen 9 processors too.

Re: buying a new computer

I think to buy a new computer and I wonder what is the elo of stockfish and lc0 for different prices of hardware. Is there a table for comparison that give price and elo estimate for both? Hi Uri! Based on the multicore intetger score of 77115. You can use NPS as a proxy for Elo - for the same engi...

Re: Where are the funs of Leela?

CCC 9: The Gaunlet Final
Stockfish : Leelenstein(!) = 34 : 32 after 66 games.
So where is Leela?
This match also proves on appropriate hardware Stockfish and their developers can keep step with NN engines.
From these competitions we, the user of chess engines gain the most.
Thanks for every each team!

Re: Whatever is current - Amazing Leela

As a position is closer to endgame as it has an exact solution and as a position is closer to start position as it is more possible the end result is draw. Obviously with the spread of powerful PC-s and chess engines some of (human) chess variations became obsolete and there are variations what beca...
